HAVAL CARES FOR SOUTH AFRICA

On Tuesday 12th May, with assistance from Boxer Super Stores Alexandra, Haval and Rays of Hope distributed 152 nutritious Food Parcels into Alexandra. Each food parcel will feed a family of 5 for a month and included essential food items like rice, cake flour, maize meal, samp, oil and more.

Keeping vulnerable people fed amid this pandemic is of utmost importance.

Haval would like to thank Rays of Hope and every hand involved in feeding and ensuring 152 families remain well-nourished during this time.

Haval first made its way onto South African streets in 2017 and has proved itself from South Africa’s toughest terrain to the urban streets. Haval is GWM’s professional SUV brand, dedicated to the development of SUV specialization. Their integration of leading global suppliers ensures Haval is constantly being refined to produce a top-quality driving experience.

Considering the Global COVID-19 Pandemic, the Haval Family have identified the threatening food crisis of unprecedented magnitude for all vulnerable South Africans. Due to the crucial need for food that the urban townships face, Haval jumped at the opportunity to reach out and help desperate and starving South Africans in dire need.

Haval recognises that food security is an essential measure that must be taken seriously and is a priority for our country. Because of the recent National Lockdown, many South Africans are unsure of where to find their next meal. With the rapid increase of hunger in vulnerable areas, improving the availability of nutritious food is of utmost importance.

With Alexandra being on the doorstep of Haval’s HQ, they identified this community as being deeply affected during the global crisis and a dire need for food security.

Thus, Haval reached out to Rays of Hope as their partner on the ground to distribute food parcels into Alexandra.

Rays of Hope is a non-profit company and a public benefit organisation in the heart of Alexandra, that manages several social outreach projects. Rays of Hope began operating in 1991 and has grown to a network of seven community-based projects. Their values remain committed to Sustainability, partnership, reconciliation and “loving your neighbour”.
